Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Design Engineer for Alpha Engines to own CAD models and large engine assemblies, ensuring robust design data and manufacturability. You will develop and maintain detailed drawings with GD&T, manage configuration and BOMs in the PLM system, and collaborate across manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.

The role emphasizes expert CAD with 3D modeling of complex assemblies, GD&T, and knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field or equivalent design/drafting experience.
• 1–3 years of mechanical hardware design experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage CAD models and large assemblies for Alpha engine hardware.
• Create, release, and review manufacturing drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Maintain configuration integrity and BOMs in PLM; support change control.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability.
