Job summary

Rocket Lab seeks a Build Engineer at the NASA Stennis test facility, Mississippi, to own Archimedes engine build activities and drive continuous improvements in assembly, tooling, and process flow. You will work hands-on with hardware and coordinate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure high cadence testing.

The role offers growth into Build Engineer II or Senior Build Engineer levels, with responsibilities spanning device design changes, problem containment, and process optimization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering or related technical degree.
• 2+ years in manufacturing, integration or assembly environments.
• Experience with propulsion systems or complex mechanical assemblies.
• Ability to solve hands-on technical problems in real time.

Responsibilities

• Own the build process for the Archimedes engine at the test site.
• Design and implement improvements to shop floor layout and flow for efficiency, safety and quality.
• Develop, document, and improve assembly, integration and checkout procedures.
• Create and maintain engine build work orders for traceable assembly operations.
• Support technicians performing engine builds, resolve blockers and provide hands-on guidance.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and supply chain to ensure availability of engine parts for builds.
• Work with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to implement design changes and drive hardware improvements.
• Align build processes with Neutron production site standards wherever possible.
• Lead and participate in root-cause and corrective-action investigations.
