Job summary

Whisper Aero in Tennessee is seeking a propulsion engineer specializing in the aerodynamic design of compressors and/or fans at conceptual and preliminary levels. You will contribute to design space exploration, optimization, and alignment with product requirements.

The role emphasizes Python-based tooling, CFD/airflow analysis, and collaboration in cross-functional teams to advance Whisper Aero's electric ducted fan programs.

Qualifications

• U.S. Person status is required for export-controlled data access.
• Degree in aerospace/related field with several years of propulsion experience.
• Strong fundamentals in aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and propulsion.
• Experience designing/compressors or fans at conceptual/preliminary stages.
• Proficiency in Python for tooling and automation.

Responsibilities

• Support propulsion tech design and sustainment efforts.
• Develop and refine Whisper Aero's fan design software.
• Conceptual and preliminary aerodynamic design of electric ducted fans.
• Validate models against CFD and test data; document results.
• Collaborate across teams to meet product requirements and constraints.
