Proposal Writer - CDMO (Rockville, MD)

The Proposal Writer will work with sales and operations to coordinate and execute statements of work (SOWs) for clients, ensuring all information and documents are stored in centralized databases. This client-facing role requires scientific expertise, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.

This position supports our Rockville, MD CDMO site and is remote from a home office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary contact for clients regarding proposals and pricing.
• Ensure proposals comply with legal requirements.
• Coordinate with sales, project management, scientific staff, and clients to provide proposal/SOW information.
• Write/review quotes, proposals, RFI/RFPs, and liaise with various departments to ensure accuracy, proper pricing, and timely delivery.
• Follow up with clients and sales teams to ensure proposals meet needs.
• Participate in multi-site bid processes and support multiple business divisions.
• Assist with updating and maintaining databases and reports, including Salesforce.
• Ensure effective communication across departments during proposal processing.
• Attend trade shows as needed to develop new business and present capabilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a CDMO, understanding gene therapy processes from development to GMP.
• Experience with technical documentation and proposals preferred; line management experience is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, SAP, and databases.
• Understanding of business and sales processes.

Salary range: $62,200 - $78,800 USD annually, based on experience and skills.
