Job Summary

The Senior Manager is responsible for leading a team that manages the RFP and proposal development process for complex and strategic bids. The Senior Manager is also responsible for managing their own RFP projects to completion as team workload requires. You will be responsible for partnering with cross-functional partners throughout the organization to create innovative, winning proposal offers across all business segments and Evernorth capabilities.

In this role, you will be responsible for balancing competing stakeholder priorities, understanding and applying Sales/Account management strategy, and serving as a first point of escalation for issues and questions in the RFP process. Your team will also be responsible for supporting multiple transformative process optimization initiatives across the Bid Strategy & Execution department. The Senior Manager works closely with the Proposal Support Director in managing concurrent bids, departmental projects and their team members’ development opportunities.

Essential Functions
  • Lead a team of project managers to successfully complete complex, high-visibility RFP projects
  • Independently project manage RFP projects as team workload requires
  • Build strong, deep relationships with key cross-functional partners and leaders throughout the organization
  • Lead and execute process optimization initiatives as part of our department's strategic transformation
  • Facilitate negotiations among cross-functional partners to create winning responses, while appropriately mitigating business risk
  • Mentor and train new team members
  • Showcase strong project management skills and the ability to effectively multitask
  • Demonstrate strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
  • Demonstrate good judgment and ability to work with colleagues at all levels of the company
  • Utilize strong critical thinking skills to navigate challenges and uncertainty independently
  • Analyze, research, write, and edit RFP responses
Qualifications
  • 10 plus years of relevant experience
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for learning and understanding our products, services, and key business drivers
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, successfully navigate ambiguity, and work independently with minimal guidance
  • Ability to jump in when needed and bring a level of leadership support to a situation with limited background information or preparation
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to plan for and integrate multiple tasks concurrently
  • Experience in leading and directing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to develop deep cross-functional relationships, both within day-to-day work activities and beyond directly assigned tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate tools, resources, and people through to project completion
  • Knowledge of PBM or healthcare industry required
  • PMI certification a plus
  • Previous experience with Responsive (fka RFPIO) or similar RRM platform a plus
  • Previous experience with Artificial Intelligence applications

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 113,300 - 188,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
