Job summary

SLSCO in New York is seeking a Proposal Specialist to directly support the Proposal Director and collaborate with the proposal team to develop compelling, concise, winning proposals. You will manage the proposal lifecycle from qualification through interviews, coordinating with estimators, engineers, and business development to deliver cohesive, high-quality submissions.

Success requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in communications, English, marketing, or related program
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in proposal management or writing
• Experience in the AEC industry as a proposal professional
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
• Exceptional communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe InDesign

Responsibilities

• Oversee/participate in all phases of the proposal development lifecycle from qualification to interview stages
• Collaborate with pursuit teams including estimators, engineers, and business development to create cohesive proposals
• Participate in brainstorming and concept meetings to formulate winning strategies
• Develop compelling content communicating value proposition, differentiators, and technical capabilities
• Ensure compliance with client requirements and company standards
• Oversee form and administrative sections in proposals
• Contribute to process and template improvements for efficiency
• Maintain and update project and resume data in BD systems for proposals and reporting

Job description

The SLSNE Proposal Specialist will directly support the Proposal Director and work with other proposal team members to develop compelling and concise winning proposals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Proposal Lifecycle Management: Proposal Lifecycle Management: Oversee/participate in all phases of proposal development, from initial qualification through to interview stages, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions. Focus on small to medium scale pursuits in terms of complexity. For larger scale pursuits, the individual will act as a collaborator.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with pursuit teams, including estimators, engineers, and business development professionals, to integrate efforts and develop cohesive proposals.
• Strategic Development: Participate in brainstorming sessions and critical concept meetings to formulate winning strategies tailored to each pursuit.
• Proposal Content Creation: Develop compelling content that effectively communicates our value proposition, differentiators, and technical capabilities.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all proposals adhere to client requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.
• Form Management: Oversee the form and administrative sections in proposals.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous enhancement of proposal development processes, templates, and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Data Management: Maintain and update project and resume data in business development systems, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for proposal and reporting purposes.

Position Requirements:

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned tasks to meet tight deadlines.
• Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited University in Communications, English, marketing, or a related program.
• Experience working in the AEC industry as a proposal professional
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Adobe InDesign
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in proposal management or writing
