Proposal Engineer – Aftermarket Equipment
We are seeking an individual to join our Rotoflow business, based in either Houston, TX or Bethlehem, PA, supporting global turbomachinery aftermarket opportunities. In this role, you will be responsible for developing timely, accurate, and competitive proposals that support sales growth and customer satisfaction across a diverse global customer base.
Travel for this position is expected to be up to 5% (domestic).

Key Job Responsibilities
- Support the RFQ/RFP responses and bid management lifecycle process by developing accurate, timely, and competitive aftermarket turbomachinery equipment proposals
- Participate in tendering activities for global customers in the Oil & Gas, LNG, and Industrial Gases industries
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to define scope, pricing, and delivery strategies
- Manage multiple proposals concurrently while ensuring high‑quality outputs and adherence to deadlines
- Interpret customer requirements and technical specifications to create tailored solutions
- Support commercial strategy through cost estimation, pricing analysis, and proposal optimization
- Drive accountability across internal stakeholders to meet proposal commitments and timelines
- Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership
- Continuously seek improvements in proposal processes, tools, and execution efficiency
Required Skills / Abilities
- Familiarity with industrial rotating equipment such as compressors or expandors
- Experience with bid management, RFQ/RFP processes
- Previous proposal management or cost estimating experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to be assertive, persistent, and hold others accountable
- Strong organizational and administrative capabilities with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with cost estimation tools
- Experience with ERP/CRM systems such as SAP or Salesforce preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to lead meetings and manage complex discussions with cross‑functional teams
- English language proficiency (written and verbal) required
- Ability to work effectively within global, cross‑cultural teams
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills
- Demonstrated initiative with an entrepreneurial mindset
Minimum Hiring Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in proposal management, engineering support, or cost estimating environments
- High School Diploma or GED required (in addition to degree requirement)
Work Schedule & Environment
- Position may be based in Houston, TX or Bethlehem, PA
- Hybrid work schedule (currently 4 days in‑office; subject to change)
- Up to 5% domestic and international travel required
- Standard business hours, with flexibility as needed to support global teams
