Job summary

HW3 is seeking a Senior Proposal Engineer to support technical automation solutions across power, water, wastewater, and industrial processes. The role focuses on turning customer requirements and RFQs into solid technical proposals, with close collaboration across Sales, Engineering, and Project teams.

You will develop scope, estimate costs, and prepare technical documentation for PLC/DCS and industrial automation systems, traveling about 15% and onsite work is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
• 3–7+ years of engineering/technical experience.
• Strong PLC, controls, DCS, or industrial automation background.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with RFQ, estimating, bidding, or technical scope.
• Willingness to work onsite.
• Relocation assistance available.
• Power, water, wastewater, or process automation experience preferred.

What You'll Do

Develop technical solutions and proposals from customer requirements, specifications, and RFQs.

Support scope development, equipment selection, estimating, costing, and technical documentation.

Work with PLC, DCS, controls, and industrial automation systems.

Partner with Sales, Engineering, Project teams, vendors, and customers.

Support proposal reviews, technical discussions, and customer presentations.

Travel approximately 15%.

Requirements

Minimum 3-7+ years of relevant engineering/technical experience.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field/equivalent experience.

Strong PLC, controls, DCS, or industrial automation background.

Strong communication and customer/stakeholder skills.

Proposal, applications, RFQ, estimating, bidding, or technical scope experience is highly valued.

Willingness to work onsite.

Relocation Assistance Available.

Preferred

DCS experience.

Experience with advanced industrial control systems.
