Job summary

Syneos Health in Morrisville, NC seeks a Proposal Analyst to support RFP responses for Business Development. You will collaborate with SMEs, prepare budgets and tailored proposal text, ensuring compliance with client specs and internal assumptions.

The role involves coordinating with contracts, finance, and operations, maintaining proposal management tools, and presenting budgets in client-friendly formats. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent in a business or health-related field.
  • Experience in proposal preparation in CRO/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and analyzes RFPs from Business Development, ensuring SMEs are assigned.
  • Prepares and modifies proposal text, budgets, and cover letters in response to RFPs and rebids.
  • Ensures budgets align with RFPs and client specs; obtains third-party quotes when needed.
  • Manages the proposals process from RFP receipt to delivery with limited supervision.
  • Updates proposals and sales tools regarding status and value; coordinates hand-over meetings.

Because we know that when we bring together smart colleagues from across the world, we can shape the future of healthcare, driving impact for customers and defining the pace of patient progress.Job ResponsibilitiesCore ResponsibilitiesReceives and analyzes Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from Business Development (BD), ensuring appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are assigned to and notified of the RFP.Prepares and modifies proposal text, budgets, and cover letters responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) and rebids based on feedback received from SMEs, with assistance from proposal management staff when needed.Ensures proposal text and budgets are in agreement with RFP, client specifications and communication, and internal assumptions.Obtains third party quotes as needed.Manages the proposals process and stage gates from RFP receipt to proposal delivery with limited support from line manager. Works with a mentor or manager to identify and develop mitigation skills and strategies in appropriate situations.Works with contracts, finance, and operations to facilitate project initiation as part of PlanActivation.Updates proposals and/or sales management tools, systems and/or forms regarding proposal or rebid status and value as directed.Coordinates and participates in project hand-over meetings.Learns to present budgets in client-specific/requested formats.May provide functional guidance and application of process guidelines to internal constituents as needed.QualificationsBA/BS degree or equivalent in a business or health related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; plus minimal experience / exposure working in proposal preparation in the CRO/pharmaceutical industry.Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), email, and voicemail.Knowledge of the clinical development process as illustrated by previous work history in clinical research or other drug development experienceGood analytical, negotiation and organizational skills with ability to perform several tasks simultaneously and the ability to work independently and flexibly to meet deadlines.Above-average attention to detail, effective oral/written communication skills along with highly developed interpersonal and strong team orientated skills.DisclaimerTasks, duties, and responsibilities as listed in this job description are not exhaustive.
