Job summary

AIG Insurance Company - Puerto Rico is seeking an Underwriter to assess and quote Property risks and to help expand profitable business. The role involves analyzing engineering reports, catastrophe modelling results, and broker information to inform pricing and structure.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and brokers to target desirable accounts while delivering excellent service in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial, Business Administration (Finance or Accounting preferred), or related areas.
Analytical and quantitative skills with strong problem-solving abilities.
Experience in facultative reinsurance is desirable.
Experience in Property underwriting accounts for at least one year.
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

Evaluate risks, quote and issue Property policies to increase profitable production.
Analyze, prepare, define structure, place and negotiate facultative reinsurance.
Collaborate with Distribution, Executives, and other underwriters to target desirable accounts.
Provide superior customer service to brokers and clients and increase policy retention.
Drive underwriting excellence by adhering to risk appetite, standards and pricing guidelines.
