Job summary

The role requires 3-5 years of related experience, advanced Excel/Word skills, and the ability to travel up to 10%. Remote work is possible for candidates residing in the Austin area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or related field; appraisal coursework preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience as an Associate Tax Consultant or similar role.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word; valuation software experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
• Valid driver's license; willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Review annual personal property tax returns and reconciliations.
• Review personal property fixed asset listings for misclassified assets.
• Review state and local laws, rules, and regulations.
• Conduct physical inspections of facilities and meet with client personnel.
• Prepare analysis detailing issues and opportunities for property tax savings.
• Assist client tax department with personal property filings and changes in methodology.
• Assist in negotiations for assessment reductions and represent clients during appeals.
