Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of general office or retail experience.
• Prefer experience with electronic payment processing and knowledge of credit card and e-check processing.
• Experience with business machines, computers and basic business math is desired.
• Knowledge of property tax processing is desired.
• Employees may be required to work at any of the Tax Office locations.

Responsibilities

• Carries out assessment and collection functions associated with property tax billing and payments, delinquent payments, bankruptcy payments, special and rollback calculations and payments, and refunds and tax account research
• Extensively communicates and interacts with other tax office and appraisal district staff, businesses, title and mortgage companies, and individual taxpayers to perform duties
• Resolves Tax problems in person or over the phone
• Researches Tax questions and provides appropriate response
• Answers questions from clerks
• Responsible for accurate files and filing
• Ensures accuracy of funds collected and posting of transactions to accounts
• Accountable for funds collected
• Will be required to rotate responsibilities on a routine basis
• Performs all other related duties as assigned
