DuCharme, McMillen & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Property Tax Intern for Summer 2027 in Indianapolis, IN.

The intern will assist with Real Estate and Business Personal Property assessment reviews to help clients maximize tax savings and receive state and local tax consulting support. Responsibilities include supporting the team in appeals, preparing findings letters, attending on-site property inspections, aiding in business development efforts, and researching state tax issues.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word or Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational, research and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for team members in the assessment review process, including representing clients during appeals and hearings with State and Local taxing authorities.
  • Prepares reports and analysis supporting DMA’s position for State and Local taxing authorities; reviews and submits periodic status reports to clients; prepares Letters of Findings for clients.
  • Attend on-site inspection of client property (plants and operations).
  • Assists Tax Managers, Directors and other business development professionals in scoping and developing customized solutions for new and prospective clients.
  • Follow economic and industry news to identify areas of obsolescence.
  • Research state and local tax issues.
  • Participate in business development initiatives.
  • Participate in business development research.
