The City of Mesquite is seeking a Property Room Clerk to support the police property room. You will take inquiries from the public, input data into law enforcement databases, and assist with the custody and documentation of evidence and impounded property.
No experience is required beyond the ability to type 25 wpm and a high school diploma; you must hold a valid driver's license. The role requires manual lifting and operation of city vehicles as needed.
Salary: $15.75/hr. minimum - $16.63/hr. midpoint (Depending on qualifications)
To perform a variety of tasks in support of the police property room; to work directly with the public and other police personnel by taking inquiries over the phone and in person; to record, file, retrieve and assimilate a variety of data related to the effective functioning of the Police Departments property room; and to perform additional tasks in maintaining the evidentiary chain of custody on criminal evidence and management of all impounded property. The tasks include receiving, storing, maintaining, releasing, and keeping records for all evidence and property.
