Property Risk Engineering (Consultant or Sr Consultant)

About the Role

Zurich’s Risk Engineering Property Midwest Team is seeking a Property Field Risk Engineering Consultant with large property highly protected risk (HPR) experience. This is a work-from-home role, ideally located in Chicago, St Louis, Madison, Milwaukee, or Northern Indiana, with an expected travel of 30%.

Responsibilities

• Provide field risk engineering to meet underwriting requirements.
• Develop and implement customer service strategies to reduce loss and improve operations.
• Support underwriting by attending client broker meetings.
• Perform field engineering services for larger locations within the region.
• Deliver advanced property consultative services to customers, including exposure identification and loss investigation.
• Assist in marketing Zurich risk transfer insurance products with underwriting professionals and agents.

Qualifications

This role can be filled at either the Consultant or Senior Consultant level. The appropriate level will be determined based on the applicant’s experience and skills.

Basic Qualifications

Consultant:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of experience in Property Risk Engineering, or
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years of experience, or
• Zurich Certified Apprentice with an Associate’s degree and 3+ years of experience, plus teamwork experience.

Senior Consultant:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of experience, or
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 8+ years of experience, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Fire Science, or related field.
• HPR Property experience.
• Property Loss control/Risk Engineering experience in insurance.
• Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with PC and MS-Office.

Additional Information

Salary range varies based on location, experience, and level, with a total range from $74,300 to $161,000. Zurich offers comprehensive benefits and encourages candidates to apply regardless of salary expectations, considering experience and skills.
