MMS Group, based in Columbia, MD, is seeking an experienced Affordable Property Manager for a 108-unit residential property. You will lead daily operations, oversee rent collection, and guide staff to deliver quality housing while maintaining regulatory compliance.

The role demands 3+ years in residential multifamily management, 2+ years in affordable housing, and expertise with LIHTC/Section 8. RealPage OneSite and MS Office proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of residential multifamily property management experience
• Minimum two years of affordable housing experience
• Associate degree in Marketing and/or Business preferred
• Experience with Section 8, LIHTC, and voucher submission preferred
• LIHTC Certification preferred
• Proficiency with RealPage OneSite or similar property management software
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily property operations and ensure financial success
• Collect rent and other fees from residents promptly
• Address resident concerns professionally and efficiently
• Partner with maintenance to plan preventive maintenance and make-readies
• Prepare and follow operating budgets and plan capital improvements
• Manage all accounting functions including invoices, evictions, and resident charges
• Hire, train, and supervise site staff for high performance
• Conduct regular property inspections to maintain standards
• Complete income verification to ensure eligibility with government regulations

Our property Managers are responsible for the overall operational and financial success of residential properties. They manage and develop team members for personal and professional growth to ensure high employee job satisfaction.

MMS Group is seeking an experienced affordable housing Property Manager for a 108-unit residential property located in Columbia, MD.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage Property Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the property.

Rent Collection: Collect rent and other property fees from residents promptly.

Resident Relations: Address resident concerns professionally and efficiently.

Maintenance Support: Partner with the maintenance team to preserve affordable housing through preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and a highly organized make-ready process.

Budget Management: Work with your Regional Manager and corporate office to prepare and follow an operating budget, planning for community capital improvements, repairs, contract developments, and negotiations.

Accounting Oversight: Handle all accounting functions associated with the property, including processing invoices, managing evictions, and overseeing resident accounts and charges.

Staff Management: Hire, train, and supervise site staff to ensure high performance.

Property Inspections: Conduct regular property inspections to maintain standards.

Income Verification: Complete income verification to ensure eligibility with government regulations.

Requirements:

Experience: Three+ years of residential multifamily property management or real estate management experience as a Property Manager. Minimum two years of affordable housing experience.

Education: Associate degree in Marketing and/or Business, preferred.

Knowledge: Experience with project-based Section 8, LIHTC, and other affordable housing programs and experience in Section 8 voucher submission, tax-credit.

Certifications: LIHTC Certification, preferred

Software Proficiency: Experience with RealPage OneSite or similar property management software.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
