Job summary

Eden Housing is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform skilled trades across one or more communities in the San Jose area. Responsibilities include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and major appliance repairs, plus daily property inspections and work-order management using Yardi.

The role requires at least one year of maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work with little supervision.

Qualifications

• One year or more in a maintenance or construction environment.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Able to read safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and be detail-oriented.
• Desirable second language skills may vary by site and reflect site needs.
• Able to demonstrate safe use of tools and basic appliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall).
• Walk property daily to identify deficiencies and submit work orders.
• Complete quarterly inspections and annual unit inspections with photos; sync at day end.
• Assist in custodial tasks and grounds work; keep common areas clean.
• Follow safety protocols; participate in on-site safety meetings.
• Be part of on-call emergency coverage; know water, gas, and sewer cutoffs.
• Maintain records via Yardi and participate in team meetings.
