Job summary

Carter-Haston is seeking a maintenance professional to help care for our grounds, common areas and apartment homes on-site. You will deliver prompt service, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure market-ready units for occupancy.

Responsibilities include door-to-door property walks, pool area upkeep, and compliance with OSHA/EPA regulations. Strong communication and flexible scheduling are required for this role.

Qualifications

• One year related experience required.
• HVAC/EPA Certification preferred.
• Proficiency with various hand and power tools.
• Experience with appliance, electrical, drywall, and/or plumbing repairs.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including on-call rotations, after hours and weekends.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance of grounds, common areas, and apartment homes; deliver prompt service and show respect to all community members.
• Comply with OSHA regulations and safety policies; follow EPA regulations and update property log; report unsafe activities.
• Support expense control by fixing rather than replacing when feasible.
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy; use Market-Ready Inspection form to ensure market readiness.
• Perform preventative maintenance; manage pool area within the community.
• Conduct daily property walks; remove litter, debris, and pet waste.
• Handle snow/ice removal for walkways, sidewalks, and parking lots.
• Assist Service Manager with shop and inventory in line with the annual budget.
• Deliver excellent customer service to achieve high guest satisfaction and positive reviews.
