Job summary

Mary Cariola Center is seeking a hands-on maintenance professional in New York to perform interior and exterior upkeep across residential facilities. The role includes drywall patching, painting, and repairing equipment, with tasks spanning HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and vehicle upkeep.

Responsibilities also cover exterior grounds, pool operations where applicable, life-safety compliance, and assisting with creating simple therapeutic materials as directed by the treatment team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
• Experience with drywall repair and painting.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English, including safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide interior improvements such as patching drywall, painting, and repairing equipment.
• Maintain and monitor residential building systems and perform preventive maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Maintain exterior premises, including snow removal, lawn care, and gardening.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained and inspections completed.
• Maintain Life Safety devices as required.
• Assist in constructing simple therapy/residential materials as directed.
• Transport materials between residences.
• Assist in pool opening/closing where applicable.
• Tend to emergencies that may arise.
• Other duties as assigned.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide interior improvements such as patching drywall, painting, making repairs to equipment and appliances, etc.
• Maintain and monitor all residential building systems; performing routine preventative maintenance as necessary (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
• Maintain exterior premises of the residential property including snow removal, grass cutting, gardening, tree pruning, etc.
• Ensure all residential vehicles are maintained properly and that all necessary inspections are completed
• Maintain and monitor required Life Safety devices
• Construct simple therapy/residential materials and/or equipment as designed by the treatment team to paint, varnish and/or cover such materials and/or equipment
• Transport materials and/or equipment between residences
• Assist in the opening and closing of the pool where applicable
• Tend to emergencies that may arise
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid NYS Driver’s License
• Experience in drywall repair and paintingAbility to read, write, speak and understand English including interpreting documents such as safety rules and policy and procedure manuals

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year related experience
• General knowledge of building systems (plumbing, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, etc.), blueprints and building code
