Job summary

Valor is seeking a skilled Property Maintenance Technician for its Vacation Rental Program in the United States. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections to keep homes guest-ready and safe.

The role requires dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with guests, homeowners, and vendors. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills are essential; some HVAC, electrical, and plumbing knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent trade school.
• Special courses in building maintenance and construction.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on homes within the Vacation Rental Program.
• Perform pre-arrival and departure walkthroughs for repairs as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and maintenance in engineering spaces and daily operations.
• Know commercial kitchen equipment and perform PMs on ice machines; assist kitchen staff.
• Basic HVAC knowledge to diagnose, change filters, and report issues.
• Respond to emergencies including fire alarms, threats, disasters and power failures.
• Assist with community and property preventative measures related to inclement weather.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
• Communicate information about resort services to management, staff and guests.

POSITION PROFILE

Our Property Management Team is responsible for the day-to-day operations, care, and success of our vacation rental properties. This position plays a key role in ensuring each home is well-maintained, guest-ready, and operated to the highest standards of quality and hospitality. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities may include coordinating property maintenance and repairs, conducting property inspections, communicating with guests and homeowners, managing supplies and inventory, and responding to property-related issues. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and attention to detail. Our goal is to provide guests with a clean, comfortable, safe and memorable experience while protecting and maintaining the value of each property we manage. The successful candidate will present the company professionally, communicate effectively with homeowners, guests, vendors, and team members, and take ownership of problems from start to finish. Flexibility, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple properties and tasks are essential.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all homes within our Vacation Rental Program. This includes assessing all electrical, plumbing, appliances, HVAC and other home systems that are functioning properly for guest and owner arrivals.
• Perform pre-arrival and departure walkthroughs to determine if any repairs are necessary before the next guest arrivals.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general maintenance duties in the engineering spaces as well as other assigned daily operations.
• Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and have the ability to perform PMs on ice machines, as well as assisting the kitchen staff with any items or equipment that is not functioning properly.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC systems to be able diagnose, change filters, and report any issues to the Property Engineering Manager.
• Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.
• Assist with community and property preventative measures and recovery related to inclement weather.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
• Communicate information and Resort services to management, staff and guests.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS

• High school diploma or equivalent trade school, special courses in building maintenance and construction.
• Ability to operate with basic hand-tools, miter saws, drills and other components within the engineering department.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction preferred.
• Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work.
• Knowledge of commercial pool operations. Daily checks on pool heaters, pumps and water levels.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Lift/Push/Pull/Carry - up to 50-75 plus lbs. supplies, equipment and machinery. Bending - required to perform inspections and repairs frequently throughout shift. Kneeling - required to perform inspections and repairs frequently throughout shift. Continuous movement throughout hotel required to respond quickly to emergency.
