Job summary

Maricopa County Real Estate Department is seeking a Real Property GIS & CAD Specialist to provide GIS, CAD, and title technical services for transportation and flood control projects. You will research deeds, surveys, title reports, and other documents, preparing right-of-way plans, base maps, and legal exhibits for land acquisitions.

You will collaborate with RED, FCD, MCDOT, Planning and Development, and other agencies, handling inquiries and contributing to project meetings.

Qualifications

One year of experience working with GIS applications
Associate's degree in GIS, cartography, geography, planning, architecture, civil engineering, computer science, or related field
An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Two or more years of related experience
Experience using ESRI ArcGIS Pro, CAD, coordinate geometry programs, and the Microsoft suite of programs
Experience in encoding real estate records and data into a database and ESRI ArcGIS Pro
Experience using principles and practices of land surveying, right-of-way and engineering design
The ability to work independently and proactively, communicate effectively, and work in a team environment

Responsibilities

Create and quality check legal descriptions, exhibits, ROW plans, and other documents
Maintain and update real estate parcel land records and GIS parcel polygons and attributes
Review and analyze legal documents, construction plans, title reports, and other documents to prepare project right-of-way plans, legal descriptions, exhibits, and GIS depictions of land parcels
Respond to inquiries and attend project meetings related to existing and future MCDOT and FCD right-of-way
Review and provide feedback on engineering project construction plan submittals and special use permit applications
