The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) Legal Section seeks an Attorney to counsel and support its Property Litigation and Construction Law Units. The role involves property expropriation, public bidding, and highway contracts, with duties in research, advice, and representation.

Applicants must be licensed to practice law in Louisiana and have experience applying Louisiana Revised Statutes, notably Titles 38 and 48, in public-sector matters.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Louisiana.
• Experience with property expropriation and construction/public-sector law.
• Knowledge of Louisiana Revised Statutes, Titles 38 and 48.

Responsabilités

• Provide legal research, advice, consultation, and representation for the Legal Section.
• Assist with expropriation matters and advise Real Estate Section on property acquisitions.
• Offer legal assistance related to litigation, bids, bid protests, construction and highway contract claims, and LPA projects.
• Counsel department officials and engineers on contracts, regulations, and related legal issues.
• Collaborate with section heads and other departments to modernize laws and procedures.
