Job summary

City of Mount Dora is seeking a skilled Property and Evidence Clerk in Mount Dora, FL. The role requires maintaining the Property and Evidence Unit, processing items, and supporting the Administrative Services Division under supervision.

The candidate will handle inventory, storage, and disposal of evidence, property, and related records. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 5 years of law enforcement experience preferred, and a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have law enforcement organization experience; minimum of 5 years preferred.
  • Experience with collection, processing, and maintenance of property and evidence.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
  • NIMS within 6 months of probation.
  • Excellent listening and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in technical and professional settings.

Responsibilities

  • Make daily checks of evidence/found property lockers, patrol room and refrigerator for evidence/found property, secure storage and empty all.
  • Barcode evidence/found property into storage and provide item locations.
  • Ensure security of all evidence, found property and secure storage.
  • Conduct periodic inventories of evidence, found property, and supplies.
  • Prepare requisitions and related paperwork for submission to finance department.
  • Communicate effectively on radio channels during processing of radio communications.
