Job summary

The Property Clerk at Eckerd Connects Job Corps in Denison, IA is responsible for maintaining accurate property records, ordering and distributing equipment, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This role supports inventory control and shipping/receiving activities for the center.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of property control experience, and a valid Iowa driver’s license. A pre-employment drug screen and national background check are required.

Responsibilities

  • The Property Clerk maintains accuracy of property/inventory records.
  • Ensures center equipment and supplies are ordered, received, and distributed.
  • Posts and maintains shipping, receiving, and inventory documents per regulations.
  • Arranges for disposition of excess materials per the Property Handbook.
  • Monitors procurement of supplies for GSA, self-service store, and vendors.
  • Maintains records of location of all center property.
  • Attends required staff training sessions.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Position

Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $22.00

Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Property Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of the property/inventory control functions.
  • Ensures that center equipment and supplies are ordered, received, and distributed.
  • The Property Clerk posts and maintains shipping, receiving, inventory records and documents in accordance with center and DOL regulations.
  • Arranges for disposition of excess materials in accordance with procedures as stated in the Property Handbook.
  • Monitors the procurement of supplies, materials and equipment for General Services Administration, self-service store, and other vendors.
  • Monitors maintenance of accurate records on the physical location of all center property.
  • Attends required staff training sessions.
Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in property/inventory control preferred.
  • Valid State driver's license in the state of employment with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
  • Sound working knowledge of property/inventory control procedures. Knowledge of Government property management requirements and procedures desired.
