A leading insurance provider is seeking a Property & Casualty Risk Engineer to join their Risk Consulting division. The role involves advising clients on safety best practices and conducting risk assessments to enhance underwriting processes within New York State. This is a remote position with regular travel to client sites across the region.
We are currently seeking candidates for a Property & Casualty Risk Engineer (PCRE) with experience in the insurance, loss control, and/or safety industry. This person will support our Rochester, NY underwriting operations but can be based anywhere between Albany and Buffalo. The PCRE operates within the Risk Consulting division and is a key part of our value-added services for commercial insurance policyholders. The position reports to the Regional Risk Consulting Manager and supports our New York State territory. Regular travel is required throughout the region as needed, including approximately 2 nights per month overnight travel. Outside of local and regional client engagement travel, this is a "work from home" position.
The primary focus is to understand clients' operations and support our underwriting team; advise clients on best practices related to safety, fleet, facility maintenance, business continuity, and product safety; identify hazards and recommend improvements; and promote Chubb's risk consulting services to meet client needs and improve loss history. On-site visits will be conducted, with comprehensive reports evaluating hazards and controls for risk assessment, pricing, and underwriting decisions to foster profitable growth.
Daily activities include scheduling client visits, handling correspondence, completing reports, following up on recommendations, and coordinating with claims and underwriting teams to ensure high service standards, effective risk selection, and client retention.
