Job summary

The Hilb Group, LLC in Hammond, LA is offering an internship to explore career paths within an expanding insurance brokerage. You’ll rotate between Personal Lines and Commercial Lines, support the account management team, and participate in client meetings, data tasks, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Preferred majors include Business Management, Marketing, Communications, Risk Management & Insurance, Actuarial Science, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Curious, motivated and eager to learn about the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Rotate between Personal Lines and Commercial Lines departments to gain hands-on exposure to both lines of coverage.
• Support account management team with policy documentation, endorsements, renewals, and administrative tasks.
• Assist with data entry, reporting, and quality checks within the agency management system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Participate in client appointments and sales meetings with producers to observe client service and sales best practices.
• Contribute to special projects aimed at improving internal processes, client experience, or operational efficiency.
• Build professional communication skills through interactions with internal stakeholders.
