Job summary

Addison Group in Bergen County, NJ seeks a Property Accountant for a direct hire role. You will manage property accounting functions, review financial documents, and work with field teams to resolve AR/AP issues.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting with 3-5 years of property accounting experience, strong Excel and Yardi skills, and a proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 3-5 years accounting experience (property accounting experience preferred).
• Experience with Yardi is firmly required.
• Proficiency in Excel required, Salesforce software experience a plus.
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize multiple high priority projects.
• Strong work ethic focused on meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper accounting functions for the assigned properties and review related documents.
• Monitor AR and AP aging, unapplied cash, bad debt allowance, cash flows and positions.
• Approve accounts payable in a timely manner and coordinate with field teams.
• Review tenant ledgers and CAM charges, perform reconciliations.
• Manage cash flow between properties and holding entities; reconcile investments.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly closing entries and reports for investors and lenders.
• Assist with year-end audits and liaise with CPAs as needed.
