Job summary

Tampa Electric Company is seeking a motivated Property Accountant to join the Regulated Property Accounting team in Florida. We target Property Accountant I or II levels, with Senior consideration for experienced candidates, supporting capital project accounting and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include PP&E accounting, capital project support, and cross-functional collaboration with Project Management, Tax, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, reconcile, and monitor capital work orders and plant asset activity.
• Support accounting and reporting of PP&E per GAAP and regs.
• Research and resolve accounting issues on capital projects and assets.
• Prepare and review asset transfers, retirements, and journal entries.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls including Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Assist with financial, regulatory, audit and management reporting.
• Partner with Project Management, Tax, Regulatory Accounting, Ops teams.
• Provide guidance on capital vs operating expense accounting policies.
