Job summary

Project for Pride in Living, Inc. in Minneapolis seeks an accounting professional to lead full-cycle property accounting, ensure GAAP compliance, and support budgeting for a diverse portfolio.

Reporting to the Associate Controller of Property Management, you will prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly/annual reports, analyze variances, and assist with HUD, MHFA, lender and regulatory reporting while contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of financial statements, general ledgers and accounting theory.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with YARDI or similar property accounting software.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain property accounting records in compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare journals, GL reconciliations, and financial reports for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Analyze budget variances, financial statements, and KPIs.
  • Complete HUD, MHFA, lender and regulatory reporting.
  • Support annual budgeting, audits and workpaper preparation.
  • Assist with internal controls, fixed assets, AR/AP and depreciation.
  • Research and resolve accounting inquiries; implement process improvements.
  • Provide support to Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller.

**** Position Summary

Join our collaborative accounting team and play a key role in the financial success of a diverse property portfolio. Reporting to the Associate Controller of Property Management, this position is responsible for full-cycle property accounting, including financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, budgeting support, and performance analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain property accounting records in compliance with GAAP
  • Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  • Analyze budget variances, financial statements, and key performance metrics
  • Complete required HUD, MHFA, lender, and regulatory reporting
  • Support annual budgeting, audits, and audit workpaper preparation
  • Assist with accounting policies, internal controls, and operational procedures, including fixed assets, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and depreciation
  • Research and resolve accounting and financial inquiries
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiencyProvide support to the Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller and perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
  • Understanding of financial statements, general ledgers, trial balances, accounting theory, and accounting software systems
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience working with YARDI or other similar property accounting software
Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 2-5 years financial accounting experience
  • Or a combination of education and experience
