Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is seeking a Propane Specialist responsible for safe and timely tank setup and propane deliveries to customers. The role includes installing and repairing tanks, loading/unloading propane into bulk trucks, and providing exceptional customer service while upholding stringent safety standards.

Responsibilities include transferring propane, documenting deliveries, coordinating with dispatch, and performing regular vehicle inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year propane experience preferred.
• CDL Class A or B required.
• Tanker & Hazmat endorsement preferred.
• Clean driving record.
• DOT medical certification up-to-date.
• Ability to rotate on-call status evenings/weekends as needed.
• US work authorization required; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, load, and deliver propane products to customers using bulk trucks, tanks, and cylinders.
• Monitor and record propane inventory and print delivery tickets; submit daily driver reports when needed.
• Keep equipment and vehicle safe through pre/post inspections and maintenance; report issues to Fleet Manager/Dispatcher.
• Coordinate with Dispatcher on routing, scheduling, and safety concerns; communicate issues promptly.
• Provide propane tank installations and perform leak checks; respond to emergencies and conduct tank maintenance on spare tanks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

A Propane Specialist is responsible for the safe and timely tank setup and/or delivery of products to our customers. The Propane Specialist will install/repair tanks, deliver, load and unload propane into the bulk truck and end use containers while providing exceptional customer service. A Propane Specialist will also be accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you'll do:

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks, and/or cylinders) for customers. Initiate and conduct the asset verification process. Collect customer signatures/stamps and payments for deposit if necessary. Offer customer brochures with basic price lists and a contact number. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable, document pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the Dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Provide Propane tank installations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all state/local codes and safety policies. Identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection. Respond to customer emergencies as needed. Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations. Perform tank maintenance on spare tanks in preparation of installation.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year job related (Propane) experience preferred
• CDL Class A or B
• Tanker & Hazmat Endorsement preferred
• Clean drivers abstract
• Up-to-date DOT medical certification
• Ability to rotate "on call" status during evenings and weekends as needed.
