Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is hiring a Propane Specialist to safely set up tanks and deliver propane to customers. You will install and repair tanks, load and unload propane into bulk trucks and end-use containers while delivering excellent service.

This role emphasizes strict safety, regular vehicle inspections, and close coordination with the Dispatcher for routing. CDL Class A or B, Tanker/Hazmat endorsements, clean driving record and DOT medical certification are required or strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year propane experience preferred.
• CDL Class A or B with Tanker/Hazmat endorsements.
• Clean driving record and up-to-date DOT medical certification.
• Willingness to rotate on-call status evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, load, and deliver propane to customers from bulk trucks, tanks, or cylinders.
• Use technology to monitor inventory, record deliveries, and print tickets.
• Maintain safety standards and conduct pre/post vehicle inspections.
• Coordinate routing with the Dispatcher and address issues promptly.
• Provide propane tank installations and perform periodic maintenance.

A Propane Specialist is responsible for the safe and timely tank setup and/or delivery of products to our customers. The Propane Specialist will install/repair tanks, deliver, load and unload propane into the bulk truck and end use containers while providing exceptional customer service. A Propane Specialist will also be accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you’ll do:

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks, and/or cylinders) for customers. Initiate and conduct the asset verification process. Collect customer signatures/stamps and payments for deposit if necessary. Offer customer brochures with basic price lists and a contact number. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable, document pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the Dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Provide Propane tank installations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all state/local codes and safety policies. Identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection. Respond to customer emergencies as needed. Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations. Perform tank maintenance on spare tanks in preparation of installation.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
