Job summary

Parker Oil Propane is seeking Service Technicians to join our Suffolk, VA team. This hands-on, customer-facing role involves setting propane tanks, installing gas lines, and performing leak tests, while ensuring safety and high service standards.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, conducting pressure tests, training helpers, and maintaining vehicle readiness. Strong safety focus and excellent communication with customers are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Customer service and communication skills required.
• Physical ability to perform duties (lifting up to 100 lbs, climbing, crawling in spaces).
• Ability to detect leaks by hearing and smell.
• Propane/gas service experience is a plus, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, set, and install propane tanks and gas lines in compliance with codes and safety standards.
• Drive and operate company service vehicles.
• Conduct leak and pressure tests to ensure system safety.
• Troubleshoot and repair gas-burning appliances.
• Complete compliance paperwork, gas check forms, and work orders.
• Educate customers with propane safety packets and walk-throughs.
• Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle and professional appearance.
