Job summary

Matheson Tri-Gas is seeking a Propane Service Technician in Manassas Park, VA. You will install, inspect, maintain, and repair propane systems, tanks, and related equipment, ensuring compliance with NFPA codes and safety policies while delivering great customer service.

The role includes on-call rotations, possible extended hours, and driving a propane bobtail to customer sites. A two-year propane/HVAC/mechanical background is preferred, with a valid driver’s license and potential CDL/Hazmat

Qualifications

Propane system installation, inspection, and repair experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license; CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements preferred.
Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and safety regulations.
Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Safely install, inspect, maintain, and repair propane tanks and piping.
Perform leak checks, pressure tests, and system inspections.
Diagnose propane system issues including appliances and delivery systems.
Ensure work complies with safety policies and codes.
Complete regulatory reports and company paperwork accurately.
Respond to emergency service calls and on-call rotations.
Communicate timelines, delays, safety concerns, and needs to management and customers.
Maintain vehicle, tools, and equipment in safe condition.
Develop strong relationships with customers and report accidents or hazards.
