Job summary

Kit Carson Propane in Taos, NM is seeking a Propane Service Technician to travel to customer locations and perform technical repair and service work on propane systems, tanks, lines, and appliances.

The role includes inspecting gas lines, performing safety checks, converting gas appliances, and ordering parts. A valid CDL with HazMat and tanker endorsements is preferred, with after-hours availability and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical and plumbing skills required.
• 1+ years tanker experience within last 5 years preferred.
• Class A or B Commercial License with HazMat, tanker, and air brake endorsements; valid Medical Exam Card for interstate commerce.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and reports.
• Willingness to respond knowledgeably to customer needs.
• Availability for after hours calls on a rotating basis.
• Age requirement: 21 years old or older.

Responsibilities

• Install propane tanks and gas lines and pressure test gas service lines per state/local rules.
• Pressure check, repair and maintain propane lines and appliances for residential/commercial/industrial customers.
• Order appliances, fittings, parts and materials for tasks.
• Convert gas appliances.
• Educate customers on propane safety matters.
