Haffners in Eliot, ME is seeking a skilled Propane Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial propane systems with a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years propane service experience preferred (trainee opportunities available)
• Applicable propane, gas fitter, or plumbing licenses preferred
• Clean MA, NH, or ME driving record
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical manuals
• Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical equipment issues and pass company drug/alcohol tests
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, overtime, and on-call shifts
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair propane tanks, piping, heating equipment, and appliances
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues
• Perform system testing, calibration, and repairs per manufacturer recommendations
• Document equipment details and service work; clearly communicate repair options to customers
• Maintain stock, parts, tools, and safety gear in company vehicles
• Coordinate with dispatch to manage schedules and customer expectations
• Maintain company vehicles and report issues
• Identify opportunities for additional services and upgrades
• Participate in company safety and technical trainings

What You'll Do:

You'll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial propane heating systems, tanks, piping, and appliances while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities include:

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing propane tanks, piping, heating equipment, and appliances
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical service issues
• Performing system testing, calibration, and repairs according to manufacturer recommendations
• Documenting equipment details, test measurements, and service work performedCommunicating repair recommendations and solutions clearly to customers
• Maintaining appropriate stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in company vehicles
• Working closely with dispatch to manage service schedules and customer expectations
• Maintaining company vehicles, including inspections, cleaning, and reporting mechanical issues
• Identifying opportunities for additional services, equipment upgrades, and service agreements
• Participating in company-provided technical and safety training programs
