PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Markets and sells all liquid propane and accounts receivable within assigned territory, including securing new clients and increasing sales volume to existing clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Establishes a route system in delivery territory and calls on all clients or potential clients to obtain orders for propane products.
  • Acts as the sole sales contact between GROWMARK and clients in delivery territory.
  • Adheres to GROWMARK’s sales and marketing strategies and attends sales training sessions.
  • Responsible for meeting sales goals as set by supervisor.
  • Promotes FS credit / Agri-Finance as a sales tool.
  • Records sales and delivery information daily.
  • Maintains a prospect list and calls on prospective customers to solicit new business.
  • Prepares order forms and sales contracts.
  • Communicates marketing programs and distributes sales promotion materials.
  • Follows credit policies, checks credit history, and explains policies to new customers.
  • Obtains signed equipment lease contracts before servicing accounts.
  • Maintains accounts receivable according to credit policy.
  • Responds to complaints and follows through for satisfactory resolution.
  • Maintains inventory, controls shrink, and manages stock in company vehicles.
  • Delivers propane products as necessary.
  • Maintains vehicle and equipment in safe condition.
  • Develops and maintains records of company-owned tanks and equipment.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • May conduct pressure tests, maintain records of regulators, perform leak tests.
  • Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct, safety policies, and performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Daily travel within sales territory, occasional overnight stays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 1 year sales experience.
  • Essential skills include business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision-making, and skill development.
  • Must obtain or possess a selling license if required by law.
  • Must achieve and maintain Certified Propane Specialist certification.
  • Must obtain and maintain a CDL with Hazmat endorsement and a clean driving record.
  • Exposed to weather extremes; may encounter dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards; work at heights occasionally.
  • Frequently lift 51-70 lbs.
  • Willing to work beyond normal hours.
  • Participate in training related to policies, procedures, and job requirements.
