PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Markets and sells all liquid propane and accounts receivable within assigned territory, including securing new clients and increasing sales volume to existing clients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Establishes a route system in delivery territory and calls on all clients or potential clients to obtain orders for propane products.
- Acts as the sole sales contact between GROWMARK and clients in delivery territory.
- Adheres to GROWMARK’s sales and marketing strategies and attends sales training sessions.
- Responsible for meeting sales goals as set by supervisor.
- Promotes FS credit / Agri-Finance as a sales tool.
- Records sales and delivery information daily.
- Maintains a prospect list and calls on prospective customers to solicit new business.
- Prepares order forms and sales contracts.
- Communicates marketing programs and distributes sales promotion materials.
- Follows credit policies, checks credit history, and explains policies to new customers.
- Obtains signed equipment lease contracts before servicing accounts.
- Maintains accounts receivable according to credit policy.
- Responds to complaints and follows through for satisfactory resolution.
- Maintains inventory, controls shrink, and manages stock in company vehicles.
- Delivers propane products as necessary.
- Maintains vehicle and equipment in safe condition.
- Develops and maintains records of company-owned tanks and equipment.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- May conduct pressure tests, maintain records of regulators, perform leak tests.
- Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct, safety policies, and performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Daily travel within sales territory, occasional overnight stays.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 1 year sales experience.
- Essential skills include business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision-making, and skill development.
- Must obtain or possess a selling license if required by law.
- Must achieve and maintain Certified Propane Specialist certification.
- Must obtain and maintain a CDL with Hazmat endorsement and a clean driving record.
- Exposed to weather extremes; may encounter dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards; work at heights occasionally.
- Frequently lift 51-70 lbs.
- Willing to work beyond normal hours.
- Participate in training related to policies, procedures, and job requirements.
