Job summary

Pico Propane, a Meritum Energy Holdings Company, is seeking a night shift Propane Delivery Driver in Fort Lauderdale, FL. You will load, transport and deliver propane cylinders and bulk propane to our residential and commercial customers with flatbed and bobtail trucks (3,000–5,000 gallons).

The 4:00pm–2:00am shift includes a $1.00/hour incentive. Candidates should have CDL A or B, Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred, and a safety-first mindset with strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL Class A or B required.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Propane delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers cylinders of various sizes and picks up empty cylinders.
• Delivers to customers using a flatbed or bobtail truck with a lift gate.
• Performs daily safety checks and DOT documentation.
• Loads, secures, transports, and delivers propane to residential and commercial locations.
• Provides a high level of service to customers.
• Conducts pre- and post-trip equipment inspections and maintains records.

Job Summary

Pico Propane, a Meritum Energy Holdings Company, is seeking a night shift Propane Delivery Driver to join the team in Fort Lauderdale, FL! This position is responsible for loading, transporting and delivering propane cylinders and bulk propane to our residential and commercial customers using a flatbed truck and/or bobtail truck (3,000-5,000-gallon capacity).

Scheduling

Shift begins at 4:00pm and runs until about 2:00am or until the job is complete. Employees receive a $1.00/hour incentive for this shift.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Delivers cylinders of various sizes and picks up empty cylinders
• Delivers to customers using a flatbed truck, which may be equipped with a lift gate to assist with loading and unloading cylinders
• Performs all daily functions in a safe manner by adhering to all city, federal and state codes and regulations, in addition to all safety and operations policies and procedures while utilizing all personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Loads, secures, transports, and delivers propane to residential and commercial locations
• Provides a high level of service to customers
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials
• Maintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Maintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety
• Ensures that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities

• Experience in propane delivery or service (preferred)
• Advanced knowledge of propane (LP) systems (preferred)
• Willingness to learn and grow
• Ability to solve problems and repair equipment on site
• Ability to use a GPS to navigate to customer locations
• Customer service oriented

Education, Certification, Licenses Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CDL Class A or B required
• Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (preferred)
• Propane & Natural Gas Technician Certification: Delivery, Tank Setters, Appliance Connection & Service Technician

Physical, Mental, and Behavioral Requirements

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of 10 to 100 lbs. for approximately 90% of the work shift
• Ability to regularly climb in and out of a service motor vehicle, multiple times per work shift
• Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to operate equipment is required, including at night
• Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
• Position is subject to pre-hire DOT medical certification requirements and drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as a physical abilities test performed by a company provider
• Must pass pre-employment screening and background check
• Position requires evening and night hours, and weekends as needed
• Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes, airborne particles and gases is common
