Job summary

Palmetto Gas in Sumter, SC is seeking a CDL delivery driver to transport propane safely and professionally to residential and commercial customers.

You will complete onboarding, learn EDP delivery routes, perform daily vehicle inspections, and begin independent deliveries with support from dispatch and service teams.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
• Driving record must meet company insurance requirements.
• Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs and pull up to 125 lbs in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to work on-call and outside regular hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane products safely.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, DOT, and company safety requirements.
• Inspect vehicles and report maintenance or equipment needs promptly.
• Provide professional, courteous service at every customer location.
• Work collaboratively with service and dispatch teams to support operational goals.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, including extended or after‑hours work as business needs require.

Palmetto Gas is a propane company built by operators who understand what it takes to serve customers well. Our drivers work closely with service technicians, dispatch, and local leadership to deliver safe, on-time service while maintaining strong customer relationships.

What You’ll Do in Your First 30 Days

• Complete onboarding, safety training, and ride‑alongs to learn EDP delivery routes and procedures
• Perform daily vehicle inspections (DDVIR) and document findings accurately
• Begin independent deliveries with support from dispatch and service teams
• Learn how we communicate with customers, handle after‑hours calls, and elevate service needs appropriately

Must Have

• Comfort using basic computer systems for logging, inspections, and documentation
• Experience working directly with residential or commercial customers
• Familiarity with DOT inspections and compliance standards
