CUMULUS MEDIA in Kansas City, KS is offering a part-time opportunity as a Promotions Assistant, Studio Board Operator, On-Air Talent, providing support to the cluster’s Promotions and Programming management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, reliable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Promotions duties include video capture/editing, social media activity, listener interaction, prize fulfillment, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Previous control console operation experience preferred.
• Audio production skills preferred.
• Ability to learn FCC rules and EAS guidelines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and audio editing software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Running the console in a radio station control room broadcasting live or pre-recorded programs.
• Playing all commercials as scheduled and maintaining a log.
• Monitors and updates weather, traffic, and news reports.
• Monitors for EAS alerts and breaking news.

Position Overview

CUMULUS MEDIA | Kansas City, KS is offering a great part-time opportunity as a Promotions Assistant, Studio Board Operator, On-Air Talent providing support to the cluster’s Promotions and Programming management. Our ideal candidate should possess an extremely good work ethic, be a self-starter, and be highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position requires extreme reliability and flexibility, with the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays. If you are a fast learner with a passion for radio, read on. Promotions duties will consist of video capture and editing, still photography, creating a strong presence for our stations on social media, station websites and apps, listener customer service and prize fulfillment, as well community interaction with listeners and clients to promote our stations. Strong detail to execution and a positive mindset are also qualities of our ideal candidate. Programming responsibilities could include running the control board, on-air hosting, audio production and traffic reports.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Running the console in a radio station control room broadcasting a variety of live or pre-recorded local and syndicated entertainment programs


• Playing all commercials as scheduled and maintaining a commercial and transmitter log


• Monitors and updates weather, traffic, and news reports


• Monitor for EAS Alerts, Ambers Alerts and breaking news


• Monitors the technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming from master control room

Qualifications

• Previous control console operation experience preferred


• Audio production skills preferred


• Ability to learn FCC rules and regulations and EAS guidelines


• Proficient using computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Audition or other audio editing software preferred


• Familiar with audio mixers preferred


• Flexibility in scheduling required; majority of the hours are in the evenings, weekends and holidays

USD $13.00 - USD $15.00 /Hr.
