Job description

Flint Hills Resources is seeking an IT Product Analyst to be part of a larger product team that partners closely with FHR capabilities to deliver a Product Roadmap. The goal is to transform work processes through technology and data, creating a competitive advantage with industry-leading data management strategies and data-driven decision making.

FHR IT product teams focus on solving business problems and optimizing total cost of ownership to create value for FHR. We invite you to apply for our IT Product Analyst role and join our Product Team at our headquarters in Wichita, KS.

This role offers remote work with occasional travel to Wichita, Rosemount, Minnesota, and Corpus Christi, Texas. Travel frequency will be determined by your supervisor and team needs.

What You Will Do
  1. Collaborate with product management, engineering, architects, and other stakeholders to understand business objectives, customer needs, and user behavior, informing product development strategies.
  2. Partner with the business to capture, analyze, and document functional and data requirements, designing solutions and developing analytics outcomes.
  3. Ensure quality of product releases through risk mitigation strategies, including test automation, test case creation, and regression testing.
  4. Utilize problem-solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  5. Work across the organization to address data quality issues in FHR’s core applications.
  6. Demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills, effectively updating stakeholders on status, risks, and roadblocks, and assisting team members in overcoming obstacles.
  7. Create and optimize data retrieval queries using Cypher, SQL, and VQL.
  8. Assist in data management tasks such as data cleansing, transformation, and validation.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  1. Experience working in a cross-functional IT team to solve business problems.
  2. Experience partnering with business users to create acceptance criteria, user stories, and requirements for IT development.
  3. Experience using query languages (Cypher, SQL, or VQL) for data extraction and analysis.
  4. At least 2 years of experience in an IT Product development role.
What Will Put You Ahead
  1. Experience developing and supporting analytics applications like Power BI, Excel, or MS Access.
  2. Experience with AWS technologies such as S3, Redshift, Lambda.
  3. Experience with data prototyping, experimentation, and ad-hoc analytics.
  4. Experience with Denodo and Neo4J Graph Databases.
  5. Knowledge of data modeling.
  6. Experience working within Agile teams and DevOps processes.

This role is not eligible for VISA sponsorship.

Salary range: $70,000 - $110,000 per year, potentially including variable pay as a bonus or other form.
