Job summary

Northern Star Resources is seeking an experienced Underground Project Superintendent to lead the safe, disciplined delivery of high-value underground capital projects from design through delivery. You will oversee execution, monitor progress, and implement recovery plans to protect milestones, while coordinating with operations, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.

Role includes a 5/2 and 4/3 roster, quarterly STI bonus subject to performance, and Premium Private Health Insurance

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mining, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline.
• 10-15+ years of relevant engineering/project management experience.
• Unrestricted C Class drivers’ licence.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and deliver on schedule.

• Ensure design and delivery meet safety standards, regulatory obligations and site requirements.
• Establish and maintain clear project delivery processes and controls.

• Monitor progress, cost performance, and scope changes; escalate issues as needed.

Underground Project Superintendent

• Reporting to the Capital Projects Manager, this role is offered on a 5/2, 4/3 days roster.
• Quarterly STI bonus per annum, subject to performance + Premium Private Health Insurance
• Be part of an exciting growth phase at KCGM, with new projects and the development of our underground operation at NSR.

We are seeking an experienced UG Project Superintendent to lead the safe, disciplined, and effective delivery of high-value underground capital projects. This role is responsible for overseeing project execution from design through to delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with required safety, quality, technical, and operational standards.
The role will establish and maintain practical project delivery processes, monitor progress and workmanship in the field, identify schedule risks, and implement recovery plans where delays or constraints arise. The UG Project Superintendent will work closely with operations teams, project engineers, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders to maintain alignment across the underground capital portfolio.

• Conduct regular inspections to monitor project progress, workmanship, quality, and safety performance.
• Lead and mentor Project Engineers, supporting their development, accountability, and effective delivery of assigned projects.
• Coordinate project activities with operations, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to maintain safe and productive execution.
• Monitor project productivity, resource requirements, cost performance, and scope changes, escalating issues where required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Mining, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or relevant discipline)
• 10-15+ years of relevant engineering/project management experience.
• Unrestricted C Class drivers’ licence
• Team leadership and conflict resolution

• Ability to motivate contractors and Project Engineers and maintain accountability
