The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is seeking a Union Cinema Projectionist to work evenings and weekends. You will operate film and video projection equipment, ensuring proper presentation and handling of films.
Successful candidates will have technical proficiency, good communication skills, and an ability to work independently post-training. Responsibilities include routine equipment maintenance, training new projectionists, and collaboration with managers to solve projection issues.

The Union Cinema Projectionist works with a team of projectionists to present film and video programs in the Union Cinema, 4-5 nights per week during the school year. The Union Cinema projection booth includes a Christie DCP (Digital Cinema Package) projector, as well as a 16mm and two 35mm film projectors, enabling the Cinema to present archival films. Student Projectionists do not need to come in with extensive projecting experience, but with an aptitude and excitement for learning more about technical and technological processes for film and video projection in a cinema.
Excellent vision and hearing; ability to lift heavy packages onto a cart when receiving film prints and cannisters (approximately 50 lbs.); ability to negotiate tight spaces in the dark.
