Job summary

SSOE seeks a Project VDC/BIM Specialist in Hillsboro, OR to develop and maintain intelligent 3D models, support coordination across architects, engineers, and contractors, and drive BIM standards throughout the project lifecycle.

You will leverage Revit and related tools to perform clash detection, 4D simulations, and laser scan data processing, while promoting efficient workflows, quality control, and ongoing training for project teams in a dynamic advanced technology environment.

Qualifications

  • Collaborate with project teams to establish VDC/BIM requirements and goals for each project.
  • Develop and implement project-specific VDC/BIM execution plans, including defining BIM deliverables, schedules, and workflows.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure integration of VDC/BIM into workflows.
  • Monitor progress and milestones for VDC/BIM tasks to meet timelines.
  • Develop BIM standards, guidelines, and protocols across the organization.
  • Process laser scan point cloud data for use in design and construction models.
  • Perform specialized modeling e.g. 4D simulations and layout extractions.
  • Stay updated with VDC/BIM trends and recommend tools for improved outcomes.
  • Provide guidance on BIM modeling techniques, clash detection, and coordination processes.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure BIM standards.

Overview

Within SSOE's Advanced Technology division, we design some of the most advanced manufacturing and technology facilities in the world. Our multidisciplinary teams work together to deliver highly coordinated engineering solutions for complex semiconductor and high-tech projects. As a VDC/BIM Specialist, you'll leverage your Revit expertise to develop and maintain intelligent 3D models, support cross-disciplinary coordination efforts, facilitate clash detection and design reviews, and help drive digital project delivery standards across project teams. Working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers, you'll play a critical role in transforming complex design information into coordinated models that improve project quality, reduce risk, and enhance construction execution. Through the use of advanced BIM technologies, innovative workflows, and industry-leading tools, you'll help deliver the next generation of facilities powering AI, advanced computing, and semiconductor manufacturing.

SSOE is looking to hire a Project VDC/BIM Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing project efficiency and coordination through the effective implementation of VDC/BIM processes. Your primary focus will be to facilitate collaboration among various project stakeholders, implement BIM standards and workflows, and ensure the successful implementation of VDC/BIM technologies throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Monitor and manage the progress of VDC/BIM tasks, ensuring adherence to established timelines and milestones.
  • Develop and facilitate BIM standards, guidelines, and protocols across the organization.
  • Process laser scan point cloud data for use in design and construction models.
  • Perform specialized modeling application e.g. 4D simulations, point layout extractions, etc.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in VDC/BIM technologies and recommend appropriate tools and software for improved project outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams regarding BIM modeling techniques, clash detection, and coordination processes.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established BIM standards.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration among project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure smooth information exchange.
  • Coordinate BIM coordination meetings, clash detection sessions, and multidisciplinary coordination reviews.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and provide training to project teams on BIM software and workflows.
  • Assist the PM with requests for proposals and specifications for Reality Capture (3D laser scanning) & other outsourced BIM/VDC services.
Compensation and Work Model
  • The person in this role will need to be able to support the pacific and central time zones on a daily basis.
  • Salary: $88,000 - $115,000/year. Compensation is commensurate with location, experience, certifications, and project complexity. SSOE reviews pay annually and offers merit-based increases tied to performance milestones.
