Job summary

SSOE Group is seeking a Project VDC/BIM Specialist within its Advanced Technology division to enhance project efficiency and coordination through VDC/BIM processes. The role focuses on implementing BIM standards, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring successful VDC/BIM adoption across project lifecycles.

Ideal candidates collaborate across disciplines, develop execution plans, and lead BIM execution activities including 4D simulations and laser scan data processing.

Qualifications

• Collaborate with project teams to establish VDC/BIM requirements and goals for each project.
• Develop and implement project-specific VDC/BIM execution plans, including BIM deliverables, schedules, and workflows.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of VDC/BIM processes into project workflows.
• Monitor and manage the progress of VDC/BIM tasks, ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate BIM standards, guidelines, and protocols across the organization.
• Process laser scan point cloud data for design and construction models.
• Perform specialized modeling applications (e.g. 4D simulations, point layout extractions).
• Stay updated with industry trends and recommend tools for improved outcomes.
• Provide guidance on BIM modeling techniques, clash detection, and coordination processes.
• Conduct regular quality checks for BIM accuracy and consistency.
• Coordinate BIM coordination meetings and multidisciplinary reviews.
• Foster knowledge sharing and training on BIM software and workflows.
• Assist with proposals and specs for Reality Capture and outsourced BIM/VDC services.

SSOE is looking to hire a Project VDC/BIM Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing project efficiency and coordination through the effective implementation of VDC/BIM processes. Your primary focus will be to facilitate collaboration among various project stakeholders, implement BIM standards and workflows, and ensure the successful implementation of VDC/BIM technologies throughout the project lifecycle.

• Facilitate effective collaboration among project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure smooth information exchange.
• Coordinate BIM coordination meetings, clash detection sessions, and multidisciplinary coordination reviews.
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and provide training to project teams on BIM software and workflows.
• Assist the PM with requests for proposals and specifications for Reality Capture (3D laser scanning) & other outsourced BIM/VDC services.

Compensation and Work Model

• The person in this role will need to be able to support the pacific and central time zones on a daily basis.
• Salary: $88,000 – $115,000/year. Compensation is commensurate with location, experience, certifications, and project complexity. SSOE reviews pay annually and offers merit-based increases tied to performance milestones.
