Job summary

Langan is seeking a Project Traffic / Transportation Engineer for its Charlotte, NC team to lead traffic and parking studies, planning studies, and traffic signal/roadway design projects. You will manage multiple studies and deliver challenging transportation projects with a collaborative team.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree, 7+ years of traffic experience, EIT with PE path, and proficiency with HCS, SYNCHRO, MUTCD; AutoCAD or MicroStation a plus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of traffic engineering experience.
• EIT licensure with ability to obtain PE license.
• Experience with HCS, SYNCHRO, and MUTCD.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation is a plus.
• Strong ability to coordinate multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform the planning and permitting of traffic/transportation engineering.
• Conduct traffic analysis for traffic impact studies.
• Oversee collecting traffic volume, road, and regulatory data.
• Conduct preliminary traffic reviews at the project concept stage to identify issues.
• Draft reports including traffic impact and parking studies.
• Use engineering design software to prepare documents.
• Prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, estimates, and designs.
• Coordinate field services as needed.

Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Project Traffic / Transportation Engineer to join its collaborative team in Charlotte, NC.This individual will serve a key function in managing as well as working on traffic & parking studies, transportation planning studies, traffic event management studies, and traffic signal/roadway design projects.In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage and deliver on multiple exciting and challenging traffic and transportation projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform the planning and permitting of traffic/transportation engineering;
• Conduct traffic analysis for traffic impact studies;
• Oversee collecting traffic volume, road, and regulatory data;
• Conduct preliminary traffic reviews at the project concept stage to identify critical traffic-related issues;
• Contribute to thewriting draft reports including traffic impact studies and parking studies;
• Knowledge of engineeringdesign software (SYNCHRO, HCS, etc.) to prepare engineering and design documents with proficiency;
• Participate in tasks associated with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, cost estimates, and designs for projects;
• Coordinate and perform field services, as needed; and
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• 7+ Years traffic engineering experience;
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
• EIT licensure and the ability to obtain PE license in the future;
• Experience with HCS, SYNCHRO, and the MUTCD is required; Knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation are a plus but not required;
• Ability to effectively coordinatemultiple projects;
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively individually and in a team environment;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Reliable transportation to access job sites and a valid driver’s license in good standing;
• Ability to occasionally travel and participate in field work; and
• Ability to work overtime during evening and/or weekends, as needed by project schedule.
