Job summary

Hillpointe is seeking a Project Surveyor to bridge the office and field, directing field personnel and coordinating with the Survey Project Manager to advance projects.

You will perform complex surveys, interpret plans, manage title documents, and maintain accurate field and office records while leveraging modern surveying equipment and software across diverse sites in Arizona.

Qualifications

  • Experience with boundary, topographic, and ALTA/title surveys.
  • Ability to read plans, plats, and worksheets.
  • Knowledge of title documents and title commitments.
  • Ability to travel to field sites.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in fast-paced settings.
  • Familiarity with survey regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Organize field schedule, prepare worksheets/points, and manage field personnel; perform complex survey work including boundary, topographic, and ALTA/title surveys.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers and other stakeholders to understand survey requirements and objectives.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, plats, and worksheets.
  • Perform research for title documents, and review title commitments for initial and/or final surveys.
  • Maintain records of office documents and final surveys and of completed fieldwork.
  • Create legal descriptions and exhibits in multiple states.
  • Take active approach to as-built survey documents working with reviewers, contractors, engineers, and surveyors.
  • Understand, operate and maintain survey equipment, including robotic total stations, GPS, data collectors and software.
  • Perform duties of a Lead Field Technician as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, best practices and regulations related to surveying techniques and technology.

Job Summary

The Project Surveyor is primarily responsible for transferring and processing data between the office and the field, directing field personnel, and working with the Survey Project Manager to progress projects.

Responsibilities
  • Work with Survey Project Manager to organize field schedule, prepare worksheets and points, and manage field personnel. Perform complex survey work, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and ALTA/title surveys.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers and other stakeholders to understand survey requirements and objectives.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, plats, and worksheets.
  • Perform research for title documents, and review title commitments for initial and/or final surveys.
  • Maintain records of office documents and final surveys and of completed fieldwork.

  • Driver's License required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a computer and perform detailed technical work.
  • Ability to travel to and work at field sites as required.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and perform fieldwork across uneven terrain and construction sites.
  • Ability to lift and carry survey equipment and materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate survey instruments and related technology.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Combination of office, field, and construction site environments.
  • Office work includes use of computers, specialized surveying software, and digital records.
  • Fieldwork may involve outdoor and indoor sites, including active construction areas.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, terrain, and environmental elements during fieldwork.
  • Schedule may vary based on project deadlines, field conditions, and operational needs.
