Success in this role requires strong hands‑on concrete experience plus familiarity with construction project controls, scheduling, cost management, quality assurance, and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all on‑site concrete construction activities, including formwork, reinforcement, placement, curing, and finishing to meet project specifications and quality standards.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations (including OSHA) and company safety policies; conduct site safety briefings and inspections, and lead incident investigations as necessary.

  • Oversee subcontractor performance, enforce contract requirements, manage scopes of work, and ensure timely mobilization and demobilization.

  • Monitor and control project schedule using tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project; track critical path activities and report schedule impacts.

  • Support budgeting and cost control activities by monitoring labor, materials, and equipment costs; identify and accelerate cost variances and implement corrective actions.

  • Implement quality assurance and quality control processes for concrete works; coordinate inspections, manage punch lists, and ensure compliance with specifications and drawings.

  • Manage materials procurement, storage, testing, and inventory to ensure availability and conformance to project needs.

  • Coordinate permits, inspections, and regulatory compliance including environmental controls and permit management.

  • Apply risk management best practices: identify, document, and mitigate construction and site risks; maintain risk registers and contingency plans.

  • Facilitate change management processes: review change requests, assess impacts on cost and schedule, and communicate approvals to relevant parties.

  • Prepare and deliver regular progress reports and dashboards for project stakeholders using MS Excel, Power BI, SmartSheet or similar reporting tools.

  • Use construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, JIRA) and BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD) as needed to coordinate design, shop drawings, clashes, and site execution.

  • Implement earned value management principles where applicable to measure project performance and forecast outcomes.

  • Manage resource allocation on site including labor, equipment, and materials to maintain productivity and meet milestones.

  • Coordinate inspections and testing with QA/QC teams and third–party inspectors; document results and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

  • Support procurement and supplier management activities, including materials submittals, delivery coordination and claims resolution.

  • Promote continuous improvement and Lean/Six Sigma practices on site to increase quality, efficiency and reduce rework.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience supervising concrete construction activities on commercial or infrastructure projects; strong practical knowledge of concrete methods, formwork, reinforcement, placement, curing and testing.

  • Proven experience in site supervision, subcontractor management, permit coordination, and construction inspection.

  • Working knowledge of scheduling tools (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and familiarity with earned value management and cost control practices.

  • Experience with project controls including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and resource allocation.

  • Familiarity with quality assurance/control systems and safety management practices, including OSHA compliance.

  • Experience with construction software platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, SmartSheet, or JIRA and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI is a plus.

  • Exposure to Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows and software (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD) is desirable.

  • Experience managing procurement, materials management, and supplier/subcontractor coordination.

  • Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and permit management processes.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills; ability to prepare clear written reports and deliver presentations to clients and project teams.

  • Relevant technical qualification such as BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent trade qualification; professional certifications (PMP, CCM, OSHA 30, Six Sigma) are advantageous.
