Job summary

Orionplacement is seeking a capable Project Manager to lead heavy highway and civil construction initiatives in Gary, Indiana. The role focuses on scheduling, field leadership, and ensuring project documentation aligns with drawings and budgets.

You will coordinate with customers and project teams, supervise field crews, and drive cost control while maintaining safety standards and quality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in heavy highway, civil, and site development projects.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement schedules and work plans for assigned projects.
• Communicate with customers and team members to coordinate schedules and changes.
• Direct field personnel to ensure drawings, specs, and schedules are followed.
• Ensure project documentation and quantity reporting are accurate and complete.
• Develop submittals, change orders, and pay requests as assigned.
• Resolve construction challenges collaboratively and proactively.
• Review daily costs, timesheets, and equipment utilization.
• Monitor safety program compliance and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Quality Control, Equipment, and other departments for materials and inspections.

Job Description

• Direct field personnel to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and project schedules
• Ensure project documentation and quantity reporting are accurate and complete
• Develop submittals, change orders, and pay requests as assigned
• Resolve construction challenges collaboratively and proactively
• Review and evaluate daily project costs, timesheets, truck usage, and equipment utilization
• Monitor employee compliance with safety programs and ensure corrective actions are implemented
• Coordinate with Quality Control, Equipment, and other departments to ensure materials, inspections, and equipment are available when needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in heavy highway, civil, and site development projects (required)
• Experience with asphalt, concrete, grading, and underground utility work preferred
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills
• Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Excellent problem‑solving, written, and verbal communication skills
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently while leading field operations
