Role Description

The Project Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role located in Lawrence, KS, responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects. We are looking for experienced people to join our team. Ideally, we are searching for a ground-up superintendent who has experience bringing a commercial building out of the ground, from layout to project closeout. Additionally we are looking for a tenant finish superintendent, who can perform all the necessary tasks for finishing out a sizable tenant improvement. These position lead and coordinate subcontractors and site personnel, ensuring work is performed according to plans and specifications, and maintains project schedules and milestones. The superintendent monitors site safety, quality control, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Daily responsibilities include conducting site meetings, tracking progress, managing resources, resolving field issues, and communicating regularly with project managers, design teams, and clients. The role also supports accurate documentation, including daily reports, inspections, and change tracking, to help deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget. We are not a heavy paper contractor.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated supervisory skills, including leading field crews, coordinating subcontractors, and managing on-site activities.
• Experience in commercial construction, with a solid understanding of building methods, materials, and project delivery processes.
• Strong quality control capabilities, ensuring work meets plans, specifications, and industry standards.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices, OSHA requirements, and the ability to promote a safe jobsite environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with owners, design professionals, and construction teams.
• Proficiency in construction documentation, scheduling software, and basic computer applications.
• Previous experience as a superintendent or foreperson on commercial projects; relevant certifications or licenses are advantageous.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or a degree in construction management or a related field is beneficial.
