Job summary

PorterCorp in Holland, MI is seeking a Project Structural Engineer with 1-4 years of experience to support design and engineering of custom steel structures for Poligon and CEAS+ product lines.

The role requires strong fundamentals, ability to perform independent structural analysis, and develop calculations in accordance with building codes. PE/EIT pursuit and growth toward licensure are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 1-4 years of structural engineering experience.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience performing structural analysis and calculations.
• Knowledge of structural building codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC).
• Experience with structural analysis software such as RISA-3D, STAAD, SAP2000 or similar.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and understanding of steel design.
• Experience with pre-engineered metal buildings, canopies, shade structures, awnings, or similar steel products.
• Familiarity with seismic design principles.
